Well its finally happened; the Met got a plastic nail in its coffin the other day with the arrival of the first S stock unit.

Suprised no-one else commented on it here tbh, whether its a good or bad thing its a major milestone.

Course the Standard got most of the facts wrong about its delivery. Quite a few staff are in the video, and it would seem a few away from home territory. Snugg clearance to the platform, I note. Haven't been to Amersham in a while so can't remember how close the A stock is.

the Cameraman commented, and I agree, seems much shorter than an A Stock...

Its interesting that; I was just talking to a person who was actually in that video (not the camera man) and he too said it seemed shorter than an A stock. Each car is in fact about 55' long, so presumably the illusion is down to a taller body, lower floor, and the aesthetic styling of the side panels.

Quite possibly, need to see one in the platform at Uxbridge before I make my mind up!
